Bridge/saddle on-ramps for strings

String ramps are the little grooves in a guitar bridge that run from the anchor point of the string, in this case, the bridge pin holes:

The string ramps allow the string to head upward toward the saddle to provide the optimum angle of downward pressure of the string against the saddle.
