I find this old Yamaha particularly irresistable. It harks from the days when we all thought "Made in Japan" meant "cheap imitation." In fact, this is exactly that, a cheap copy of a cheap style guitar. It's made of the least expensive materials possible" laminated top and back, simple hardwood fingerboard and bridge. It has hand cut plastic inlays stuck in a black mastic ring around the soundhole.

It wasn't long after this guitar was made that the Japanese guitar industry started cranking out instruments based on high quality American designs. . .
