Wasn't it just like ol' Bob Givens to want to go one better? He was one of the
first individual luthiers to make replicas of the famous Gibson F-5 back in
the early 1960s. After many years, he finally started assigning model designations
to his standard instruments: F-6, A-6, A-3. Before his untimely death nearly
a decade ago, he'd produced nearly 700 hand crafted mandolins, and given a number
of other luthiers instruction and inspiration.
