Lots of faux -- not much dough

Ah, yes, a feast for the eyes - or something like that. This one was made around 1930, I suppose, and it was near the bottom of the catalog, in spite of the lavish use of "mother-of-toilet-seat." I had to include it in the museum because it's so perfectly inelegant. The back, sides, neck and top are all of solid birch or another generic white hardwood with an attractive shaded finish. I'm particularly impressed with the peghead, fingerboard and pickguard which are paved over with not one but three colors of pearloid.
